Out of love. The more she knew of Christ's unconditional love, the more she looked for ways to give love back. Love for love!

When did Mother make a private vow to give God anything he asked?

In April 1942. No one knew of this promise made to God (except her confessor). Underneath this vow, she was living the most intense life of intimacy with Christ. She did not want anyone to know about this vow that the Holy Spirit inspired her to make as the best means available to her in her particular situation of following Christ.

Visit the slums. In these visits, she had no material goods to give, but she discovered a great secret. She could give joy to others. She was able by her presence to bring the joy of Christ into the homes of the poor.

After nine years of missionary life, what did Mother Teresa most ask for from a priest friend? 

Prayers. As she approached her final vows as a Loreto sister, Mother Teresa wrote a long letter to a priest she knew back home. She opened up about her interior life and her struggles. Her great desire is to do what pleases Christ. But what she is most desirous of is prayers. She begs this priest several times to pray for her. Let us imitate her in asking others to pray for us!

Growing up in an Albanian family with a devout mother, Mother Teresa first thought about being a sister at the age of 12. This passed out of her mind for six years. Why did St Teresa of Calcutta want her documents destroyed? 

On September 10, 1946, at the age of 36, Mother Teresa experienced an interior call from Jesus. He spoke words in her heart that left a lasting impression. She heard Him invite her, demand from her, that she leave her teaching order, the Loretto Sisters and bring His light to the slums of Calcutta. This intimate experience was unknown to most people until fairly recently. The documents regarding this experience were in the possession of her spiritual guides. Mother wanted these documents destroyed once her work with the poor got started. She did not want attention on herself, but on Christ in the poor.
